Head Women's Volleyball Coach/Coordinator of Athletics Programs
This position reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the oversight and operation of the NCAA Division III varsity intercollegiate women's volleyball program, including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling and managing the intercollegiate program within the policies, and principles of Penn State University and the NCAA. The Coach/Coordinator will be responsible for compliance with University policies, state laws, including those pertaining to required clearances, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. This includes oversight of the activities of assistant coaches, staff, boosters and student athletes to verify compliance, with a mandate to self-report violations. Identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain prospective student athletes. Coordinate practice planning, skill development and design coaching strategies. Provide support for the coordination and execution of the athletic programs. Assist with the supervision and training of athletic programming staff; develop employee manuals and implement training programs and/or internships. Assist with the implementation of marketing and advertising plans for programs; present materials for camps, clinics, public speaking, and/or special events. Adhere to general and program-specific safety policies, including the communication and enforcement of safety practices; maintain certifications. Suggest items for purchase in support of athletic programming; ensure proper use of sports-related equipment and report issues; assist with equipment inventory and maintenance. Adhere to and support work unit's strategic plan and adhere to established programming budget within University guidelines. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
