Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Event Operations Graduate Assistant. The successful applicant will become part of our team as we build a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. This position will be responsible to maintain event management standard for select sports and events taking place within Boise State Athletic Department with primary objective to continue improving the event experience. The position will require a strong, working knowledge and understanding of NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations.
You will have the opportunity to:
Act as the Scheduling Coordinator for the Athletic Department:
Book all varsity practices and games in Event Management System (EMS) and Google Calendar
Schedule and coordinate all rental requests held in the Boise State Athletics Complex
Coordinate event requests with compliance, business office, facility operations, marketing, parking, and other associated offices
Create the weekly event calendars for the department; including agenda for events department weekly meetings
Serve as the Varsity Sports Game Manager for select sports, including the following:
Creation of timing sheets, organizing game management meetings, updating game management books and sending visiting team guides
Coordinate with officials and visiting teams on-game day needs
Assist with the set-up and breakdown of the game day facility
Supervise event staff working varsity sports to ensure proper management
Attend game management meetings for Football games, MW Championship and Idaho Potato Bowl
Assist facility specialist with Stueckle Sky Center game day set-up; including room set-ups, suite inspections, and cleanliness of the stueckle sky center building
Assist event staff with pre-game special events, in-game management of Stueckle Sky Center, and field manager
Liaison for Special events and athletic rentals held in the Athletic Department complex:
Assist event manager with large outside rentals and campus events; such as High School State Championships
Schedule and coordinate tours of the Blue field
Supervise staff working rental events to ensure proper management of events
Special Events as Needed
Stueckle Sky Center:
Coordinate and schedule varsity recruits and donor tours of Stueckle Sky Center
Assist facility specialist with set-up/breakdown for athletic banquets and donor events. This includes but not limited to A/V set-up, room layouts, and cleanliness of the building
Learning the maintenance and upkeep of Stueckle Sky center; including building inspection and ability to assist facility foreman with facility projects and upgrades
Be responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Conference and Boise State Policies.
All other duties as assigned.
This position will be required to work nights and weekends and travel when necessary.

At a minimum, you should have:
A Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations regarding compliance issues
Organized, detail-orientated, and willing to deal with confrontation
Be able to lift 50+ pounds and capable of being on your feet for long periods of time
Experience using EMS Scheduling program or experience using a scheduling system
Experience within the field of Collegiate Event Management and/or sporting events
General knowledge of event management
Position will begin in June 2019
Finalist must enroll and be admitted into the Master of Athletic Leadership program (http://hs.boisestate.edu/mal/) at Boise State University upon acceptance of position
Finalist must attend classes starting in June 2019
Additional Salary Information: Position is a 2-year appointment. Salary will be paid biweekly and will include primary insurance coverage. Graduate school and fees will be paid for the 2-year Master of Athletic Leadership program while maintaining completion of degree requirements.
