Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach to be responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the FSU Bobcats men’s and women’s tennis program. This is a 12-month appointment and includes University System of Maryland benefits package. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities: Administer the men’s and women’s tennis program in accordance with NCAA regulations and University policy. Recruit, retain, and graduate academically successful student-athletes. Supervise graduate assistant or intern assistant coaches. Promote the men’s and women’s tennis program through public relations activities, alumni, and friends of tennis relationships. This position will have a second duty to be determined by the Athletics Director based on the selected individual’s qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to overall departmental philosophy and collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Playing experience at the collegiate level. At least 2 years of collegiate coaching experience. Knowledge of NCAA regulations and understanding of the Division II philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Experience as a collegiate head coach. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
Frostburg State University is located in the appalachian highlands (elevation 2,000 feet) of western Maryland. The main campus covers 260 acres within the town limits of Frostburg (population 7,500). The
University also offers courses at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown and on the Catonsville Campus of the Community College of Baltimore County.
The local region is rich in both history and outdoor activities. Students can visit nearby recreational areas—Rocky Gap, New Germany, and Deep Creek Lake State Parks—which offer camping, boating, swimming, hiking, and skiing.
