Adams State University (NCAA Division II and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference member) is seeking applications for the position of Associate AD/Compliance & Eligibility. Adams State University maintains an active compliance and enforcement program, with its primary goal as the continued conduct of a successful intercollegiate athletics program in observance of Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. This position will supervise the newly restructured full time position of Compliance Assistant.
The Associate AD/ Director for Compliance & Eligibility will be responsible for operating all aspects of a comprehensive compliance program of the institution. Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Associate AD for Compliance & Eligibility shall serve as liaison to NCAA Legislative Services, Compliance, and Enforcement.
The Associate AD/Director for Compliance & Eligibility will assist with implementation of NCAA Athletics Certification program and shall request interpretations of NCAA rules. Provide annual revisions and distribution of the Manual of Policies and Procedures for Intercollegiate Athletics to Athletic Department personnel. Distribute compliance rules interpretations, national legislative interpretations, announcements, information, etc.
The Associate AD/ Director for Compliance & Eligibility will be responsible for the administration of National Letter of Intent program and administration and submission of all NCAA violations and of waiver requests as submitted by the FAR.
The Associate AD/ Director for Compliance & Eligibility will meet on a regular basis with the President of the University and work closely and be proactive with RMAC compliance staff, establishing clear communications regarding compliance and eligibility of student/athletes at Adams State.
The Associate AD/ Director for Compliance & Eligibility will be responsible for the review of legislation passed by the NCAA membership. And Serve as the primary contact with NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse. They will maintain and develop a compliance education program and serve as a liaison to FAR on athletics matters.
The Associate AD/ Director for Compliance & Eligibility shall request interpretations of NCAA rules and shall serve as interpreter of rules and regulations prescribed in the Manual of Policies and Procedures for Intercollegiate Athletics, thus creating a common clearinghouse for such information. They will also assist in the certification for eligibility of all student-athletes and will administer all necessary eligibility forms/waivers, etc.
The Associate AD/ Director for Compliance & Eligibility will work collaboratively with various constituencies including but not limited to admissions, registrar, financial aid, boosters, staff and faculty
Ability to perform the requirements of the position
Bachelor’s degree required
3 years NCAA Compliance related experience required
Ability to work with a variety of personalities and excellent communication skills required.
