Goucher College seeks a graduate assistant for men’s and women’s swimming and aquatics. Goucher College fields 21 intercollegiate teams competing in the NCAA Division III as a part of the Landmark Conference. The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time graduate student in the Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) and will be offered full tuition remission and a competitive stipend for this two-year position.
The graduate assistant will be responsible for coaching the Goucher College swim teams, instructing and promoting lessons and other aquatic related programs, assisting with the development and implementation of fundraising activities, and effectively recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, with at least an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to GPE, and at least two years of driving experience on a state-issued license. Demonstrated knowledge and success in coaching swimming and organizational skills in the administration of aquatics is required.
This position, available beginning August 2019, is approximately 20 hours per week and will require weekend and evening work, including team travel. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check and driving records check as a condition of employment.
