Summary The Graduate Assistant for Creative Services will assist the creative team in managing the Southern Miss Athletics brand and serve as the secondary designer for the department’s print and digital content/publications. Reports directly to the Director of Creative Services.
Duties and Responsibilities (50%) Under the direction of the Director of Creative Services, assist with the creation of original and creative visual designs and motion graphics to promote the 17 intercollegiate sports on various media platforms (includes video production when appropriate)
(25%) Attending athletic events to capture and create creative assets (graphics, videos, photos) to be used to further promote various sports in-game and throughout the season
(15%) Providing graphic support for and assisting with the football department’s recruiting needs
(10%) Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Creative Services
-Working knowledge of creative software including: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects
-Knowledge of general graphic design principles
-An understanding of social and digital media trends and specifications
-High level of creativity and attention to detail
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Self-starter and intrinsically motivated
-Proven ability to multi-task effectively
-Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
-A minimum of one-year of experience in intercollegiate athletics as a student worker
-Proficient in motion graphics and Adobe After Effects
-Basic video shooting and editing skills
