Assistant Director Video Service Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
PRIMARY POSITION FUNCTION/SUMMARY: Responsibility for collaboration for and assisting with all creative aspects and operations of Video Services Department; while specializing in short form media production. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Post Production •Collaborating with Video Services staff in all operational functions •Conceptualizing and implementing video scoreboard production animation and still graphics, features and activities displayed during home games where there is a LED display; fulfilling media, institution and internal requests for footage; coordinating, managing and cataloging, video archives for each sports they are assigned. •Responsible for all aspects of the production process from start to finish •Conceptualizing, coordinating, writing, shooting, and editing videos for Fightingillini.com, Fighting Illini Athletics social media accounts, in-venue video boards, and television commercials. •Collaborating with the DIA staff to create marketing, publicity highlight, banquet, social and other feature videos •Work closely with social and digital media managers to help grow and entertain the Fighting Illini audience. •Assisting with production of Big Ten Network content •Producing television or webisode show features and content Live Event Production •Assist with BTN Student U broadcasts •Staffing, recruiting, and training students for BTN Student U broadcasts and Fighting Illini live events •Maintaining broadcast equipment, production switcher, fiber conversion equipment, cameras, audio equipment and graphics hardware •Live event production where there is a LED display for DIA athletic events •DIA Special events Special projects •Willingness to work night and weekend hours required. Holidays when needed •Maintain knowledge of and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION Civil Service This is a full-time Civil Service [Program Coordinator] position appointed on a -month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after [March 18, 2019]. Salary is commensurate with experience.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communication or related field.
Three years' experience working in live television or comparable experience in athletic video board operation, production or direction at a professional or collegiate. Three years of professional published editing experience in linear and non-linear formats, including adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects or Avid. Three years of professional experience with digital video, including format conversion for social media distribution. The above experience requirements can be served concurrently.
Two years' experience working with ESPN3 or BTN Student U broadcasts as a producer, director or supervisor.
