The Georgia Tech Athletic Association (GTAA) is searching for two (2) qualified individuals to fill the role of Operations, Events and Facilities Assistant. This role will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities, Operations, and Events and will gain valuable experience in both daily and event management for all GTAA athletic facilities, varsity sports, and special events. This is a 12 month paid position starting in July or August 2019 and running until August 1st, 2020.
Responsibilities: -Coordinate shipping and receiving for the entire Georgia Tech Athletic Association -General office duties -Operate as Event Manager for assigned sports -Operate as Event Manager for assigned external events -Assist full-time staff and Event Managers daily and during execution of assigned Events -Assist with day to day upkeep of athletic facilities including walk-throughs and maintenance requests -Manage set-ups and tear-downs for all GTAA events -Cooperate with the GTAA Compliance Office regarding NCAA rules and policies, including reporting requirements, and make a determined effort to ensure that staff and teams are in compliance -Exhibit the GTAA Core Values of Character, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation. Promote these values throughout the organization with a focus on fulfilling the GTAA mission -Other duties as assigned
Compensation: Stipend will be $1,800.00/month along with a monthly parking permit. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work outside typical business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds
A passion for Intercollegiate Athletics
Prior experience in Event Management or Facilities Operations preferred
