New Jersey City University, an NCAA Division III member and associate member of the Capital Athletic Conference in men’s golf, located in Jersey City, NJ, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach.
This is a part-time position that reports to the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. It is available for the Spring 2019 season and will be the program’s top assistant coach.
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a new women’s golf program, which will launch during the Fall 2020 season.
The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the organization, administration and coaching of the men’s and women’s golf program and should have a clearly defined philosophy of coaching and instructing golf.
The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
-On and off-campus recruiting and retention; -Practice and individual skill development, technical and tactical aspects of player development, strength and instruction; -Tournament and meet preparation; -Scouting and film management; -Monitoring the academic success of both programs, including study hall sessions.
The candidate must comply with NJCU, Capital Athletic Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Previous college or high school head or assistant coaching experience or demonstrated success as a PGA golf instructor and a bachelor’s degree are preferred. Commitment to academic and athletic retention and excellence are essential. A driver’s license and clean DMV record is mandatory.
