IOWA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY Head Women’s Basketball Coach
Iowa Wesleyan University is accepting applications for the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This is a full-time, exempt position working closely with the Director of Athletics. IW offers 14 intercollegiate athletic programs and is a member of the NCAA Division III, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (Football Only)
The position of Head Women’s Basketball is responsible for administering and organizing all aspects of an NCAA Division III women's basketball program, including recruiting quality student-athletes who meet the academic and athletic goals of the University, ensuring a positive student-athlete experience, and all other aspects of a competitive women's basketball program.
Responsibilities include: •Provide leadership in the planning and operation of the program.
•Administer Women’s Basketball program within the policies of IW, SLIAC, and the NCAA.
•Provide an environment conducive to a high level of academic performance by team members.
•Employ retention initiatives for student-athletes through collaboration with numerous University offices.
•In collaboration with the Admissions Office, recruit students to attend Iowa Wesleyan University and participate in the program.
•Organize and facilitate all daily practice sessions, contest preparation, competition and off-season training.
•Delegate responsibilities to assistants, student coaches, managers, and squad members.
•Develop and maintain a successful recruiting system while maintaining a high level of visibility within Iowa Wesleyan’s service region.
•Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
•Schedule contests in accordance with the policies set forth by Iowa Wesleyan University.
•Coordinate travel and meal considerations for away contests. At times, coaches may be required to drive teams to away contests.
•Organize and run summer camps to help young players improve their athletic skills and create positive exposure for IW’s athletic program.
•Enforce discipline and sportsmanship behavior.
•Evaluate and review the program and recommend changes and improvements.

3-5 years of high level coaching experience.
