Strategic leadership position reporting to the Director of Athletics and a member of the executive staff. Represent the Division in the absence of the Athletic Director and COO. Provide vision and leadership in the formulation and implementation of policy and strategic direction. Effective communication of departmental strategies and goals to coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and other internal campus constituents. Development and communication of strategic annual and long-term divisional plans. Oversight of programming, and administration of areas including equipment services, championships, events management, student-services, and physical education and recreation. Oversight and direction for sport administration group. Oversight of all NCAA bids, championships, game-day management unit, and special events. Positive and collaborative relationships with key constituents on campus. Primary liaison to Ivy League. Ensures Student Athlete Academic Services department properly and effectively advises student-athletes and maintains timely and effective communication with all university faculty and other campus departments. Positive relationships between the division and key stakeholders, to include alumni, local community, fans, parents, coaches, student-athletes, faculty and other University constituents. Responsible for effective sport supervision and continued evaluation of assigned varsity sports programs through effective oversight, communication and collaboration with Head Coach including, fiscal responsibility, scheduling conference and non-conference matches, practices, strength and conditioning, etc,, recruiting/roster management, student-athlete welfare and academic progress, disciplinary situations, compliance with conference, NCAA and university rules, evaluate and approve fundraising initiatives, relationships between Head Coaches and internal and external stakeholders, evaluation of student-athlete experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability in athletic administration with proven ability to strategically lead, and manage. Proven track record of personnel supervision and sports supervision and evaluation of coaches. Demonstrated ability to effective coach and communicate with employees on issues of pay, performance, and development. Ability to consistenly identify, hire and retain high performing employees. Effective written and oral communication skills. Analyzes and proritizes situations to identify and solve problems and generate solutions to improve efficiency and quality. Ability to make clear, transparent and timely decisions. Nine years of experience in an athletics collegiate setting and/or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
