General Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Assistant Softball Coach are to conduct all aspects of women’s softball within the philosophy and guidelines set forth by Alderson-Broaddus University, the NCAA, and the GMAC. The expectations of the women’s assistant softball coach include: commitment to the mission of Alderson-Broaddus University, meeting the established recruiting goals of the athletic department, conducting softball practices and meetings, assisting with budget oversight, travel planning, fundraising, and completion of any duties assigned by the Head Women’s Softball Coach.
1.)Meet the assigned recruiting goals for each year.
2.)Assistant in the development of the pitching staff.
3.)Monitor the academic progress of student athletes in the women’s softball program.
4.)Help ensure eligibility of student athletes in the women’s softball program.
5.)Assist with the retention of a satisfactory number of recruited student athletes.
6.)Monitor the social behavior of student athletes in the women’s softball program.
7.)Ability to exercise good judgment in problem resolution situations.
8.)Assist with softball operations including equipment management, laundry, and video.
9.)Develop softball players who are competitive at the NCAA Division II level.
10.)Perform duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Softball Coach.
11.)Participate in community and campus life opportunities.
1.)Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2.)Previous college coaching experience.
3.)Knowledge or experience in recruiting student athletes.
This position has a stipend of $1600 monthly and a University meal plan. There is also the option to participate in health, dental, and vision insurance.
Additional Salary Information: Paid over 10 months
