Siena College, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for position of Assistant Athletic Director/Development. The assistant director is responsible for the department’s annual fund raising.
Specific responsibilities include: daily management of the Saints Alive! Athletic Fund; actively cultivate, solicit and steward gifts from donors; membership retention and upgrades; identify and solicit new Saints Alive!(SA!) members using various communication platforms and direct contact; develop and implement initiatives to grow membership in SA!; administer distribution of benefits to SA! members, The assistant will be responsible for organizing specific fund raising events that contribute to SA! and managing donor hospitality of men’s home basketball games and other selected athletic events. The assistant director reports to the Director of Athletics and works cooperatively with the College’s development and external affairs unit.
Qualifications include in a minimum of a bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred. Successful candidate must possess excellent communications skill and knowledge of NCAA regulations. Two to five years of experience in college fund raising is preferred. Frequent travel and evening work required. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment. A background screening will be required.
