Springfield College invites applications for a 10-month full-time Athletic Trainer for the Department of Athletics. The Athletic Trainer provides health care services to NCAA intercollegiate student-athletes. S/he travels with equipment intensive sports and serves as a preceptor for athletic training program.
Serve as a preceptor within the athletic training program.
Assist in the maintenance of daily computerized documentation of injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athlete health care.
Assist the coordinator of athletic training with administrative duties and scholarly and service activities.
Master’s degree required in athletic training, health sciences, exercise science or closely related field; with 1-3 years of directly related experience. Licensed or licensed eligible as an Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Certified athletic trainer, with equipment intensive sport experience.
Establish positive rapport with internal and external constituents.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Frontrush.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and ATS and CORE-AT (injury tracking software.)
Handle sensitive issues and facilitate collaboration at the highest level.
Work independetly while traveling to make difficult medical decisions.
Requires regular evening, holiday, or weekend work required for travel, contests and practices.
Periods of high volume/work load occur during initial atheltic training health care screening, overlap of fall/winter and winter/spring intercollegiate seasons.
