Eastern Connecticut State University is accepting applications for the position of Head Women’s and Men’s Swimming Coach/Aquatics Director. This is a full-time, 10-month position. Eastern Connecticut State University is planning to establish men’s swimming as our 18th varsity sport in 2019-20. Upon hire, the head coach will be responsible for recruiting male and female swimmers for the upcoming season and establishing a schedule for the new men’s team. Candidates should have a proven ability to recruit at the collegiate level, with a strong commitment to the student-athlete experience.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: recruiting and retention of student-athletes, practice and meet preparation and coaching, supervision of part-time assistant coaches, developing alumni relations, and fundraising to provide for team opportunities. In addition, the Head Coach is responsible for administrative tasks such as scheduling games, budget management, and filing necessary reports. As Aquatics Director, the head coach will oversee and supervise pool facility and lifeguards. The Head Coach must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining compliance with NCAA, Eastern Connecticut State University, and Little East Conference rules and regulations.

The successful candidate will show the strong communication skills and cross-cultural abilities necessary to develop and maintain positive relationships with diverse groups of student-athletes, colleagues, alumni, and the greater campus community.
*Bachelor’s degree required
*3-5 years successful coaching experience
*Proven ability to recruit student-athletes
*Lifeguard, First-Aid, CPR certifications
*Experience as a collegiate head coach
*Knowledge and support of DIII rules, regulations, and philosophy
