The Athletics Department at Messiah College has an opening for a full-time Coordinator of Athletic Training Services. Responsibilities: This position manages the athletic training services provided to college athletes, overseeing the training room, supervising and scheduling staff. This position also provides athletic training services and works with the coaches to assure the health, safety and welfare of all college athletes.
Qualifications: Master's degree, certified athletic trainer, and 3-4 years athletic training experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. Skills and Characteristics: Ability to effectively assist student athletes with new/recurring injuries from athletics participation to recover physically and emotionally; ability to lead, organize and motivate an athletic training staff; ability to clearly, accurately and fully complete medical forms related to injuries and insurance coverage; demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and importance of holistic education; demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and professional development; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to assess, evaluate, and manage crisis situations; strong organizational skills; ability to support and articulate the college mission and vision for higher education. Location: Our scenic 471-acre suburban campus is located in central Pennsylvania, just 12 miles from the state capital of Harrisburg, and just a short drive from major metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
