Buena Vista University (BVU) is seeking two Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 2019-2020 academic year. The duties included in this position include, but are not limited to, providing prevention and care, evaluation, rehabilitation, and other Athletic Training services for all intercollegiate sports. Coverage duties will include daily rehabilitation and treatments, home and away events, practices, and other duties as assigned. This position will also serve as a preceptor for the supervision of Athletic Training students in our accredited undergraduate program. The specific sport assignments will be determined by the Head Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will report to the Head Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and the Dean of the School of Education and Exercise Science.

Requirements: Applicants must have graduated from a CAATE-accredited education program, be certified by the Board of Certification and be eligible for Iowa Athletic Training Licensure.
Assistantship Details: The assistantship for this position is through the University of South Dakota (USD). Successful candidates must be accepted into the graduate school and will participate in an online education program. The graduate assistant employment contract is through USD but all duties are performed at BVU’s Storm Lake, IA campus.
Benefits for this position include an annual stipend that is still to be determined by USD (estimated $8,000) and a partial tuition and support fee waiver for fall and spring semesters. Tuition and waiver details for USD are not set until May preceding each academic year, but the tuition waiver is approximately a 1/3 reduction for online tuition rates.
Length of Employment: Ten-month position renewable for one year for a total of two academic years.
