Belmont University is seeking applicants for a Digital Media graduate assistant position in its Athletic Media Relations office. The position will encompass various duties, including: assume leadership position supporting Belmont’s live video productions on ESPN +; work in concert with faculty members, athletic administrators, and undergraduate students in production content, themes, graphical look; serve as game-day site manager, including, but not limited to: directing, producing, camera operation, graphic/CG operation, team with media studies’ instructors to enhance educational experience; lead production meetings; equipment setup, breakdown and maintenance; provide production and editing support for highlight and interview video content on BelmontBruins.com; on-air responsibilities, as needed; manage and archive all digital assets; act as an intermediary between the athletic program, conference office, and various media outlets; serve as secondary media relations contact for 17 Division I athletic teams; support multimedia endeavors, including, but not limited to: promotional videos, social media, special events; graphic design for marketing campaigns; and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in media studies, journalism, communications, audio/video production or related field with at least one year of experience in the athletic media relations field. Experienced video production (experience with NewTek Tricaster, Ross XPression or comparable), instant replay (NewTek or comparable), and editing (Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable) skills. Proven leadership in live video production environment strongly encouraged. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe InDesign encouraged. Previous intercollegiate athletic media relations experience preferred. Involves periodic travel and night/weekend hours. Start date is flexible, but recommended no later than August 1, 2019. Compensation: The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year assignment beginning with the 2019-20 academic year and includes a tuition waiver of 6 graduate credit hours plus student fees per term (summer terms excluded), up to 24 total credit hours. The position also includes a stipend. Graduate assistants must maintain at least 6 hours of graduate-level credit per semester to be eligible.
