The assistant volleyball coach at Pfeiffer University is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all facets of the program, including student-athlete academic success, recruiting, camp/clinics, foster and maintain a NCAA and conference compliance, development of team practices and games. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of daily operations of the women’s volleyball program, including but not limited to recruiting student-athletes according to Pfeiffer admissions guidelines, film breakdown & editing, facility maintenance, fundraising, and skill development of players. Other responsibilities include organizing team study hall, budget management, organization of administrative duties, and all other duties as assigned by the athletic department. Must demonstrate knowledge of NCAA and USA South conferences rules and regulations. Staff member is responsible for the monitoring an institutional facility for the purposes of safety and facility security. Coaches supervision is to prevent any activity that is dangerous to a student-athlete or other students. This does not allow the supervisor to direct or provide instruction to student-athletes while supervising. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position helps the head coach to supervise, train and organize the daily operations of the varsity program. The assistant will hold responsibility to supervise, train, transport and organize travel/food for the team. Work Environment/Dynamics: Candidates should possess the ability to work well with their peers on staff, within the athletic department, as well as within the University. They must be able to effectively communicate the ideals of the school and our team to both prospective and current student-athletes, and also have excellent organizational skills. They must also have the ability to work in unpredictable weather conditions, step in to play/demonstrate at practice if need be, and also at times be able to aid in lifting equipment and heavier objects.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, previous coaching and/or competitive experience at the collegiate level, proven experience in fundraising and social media, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations. Other ideal qualifications are computer skills, good communication skills, multi-tasking, problem solver and interpersonal/mentoring skills. |
