The Naval Academy Athletic Association is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant Athletic Director for Dietetics and Sports Performance. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing nutritional supplementation of all 33 varsity sports, serve as an active liaison between the athletic department and Midshipman Food Services Division, design menus and nutritional needs for team travel and other meals as designated, and serve as an administrator for the new sports performance and rehabilitation facility in the physical mission center. This position is aimed to directly assist and support the student-athletes as well as work closely with coaches, certified athletic trainers, strength coaches and the sports medicine team.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Athletic Training, or a closely related field; Background in sports nutrition and exercise physiology. Must be able to pursue a License with the Maryland Board of Health as a Registered Dietitian; 2-4 years of experience working in a similar intercollegiate environment consulting athletes, coaches, and administrators on efficient nutritional needs.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Sports Nutrition, Athletic Training Certification and/or Registered Dietitian; Working towards or are a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD); Previous experience working in a Division 1 athletic department.
