The Office of the President and the Department of Athletics at Hastings College invite applications for the Director of Athletics position beginning no later than July 1, 2019. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a committed higher education leader with a with a particular expertise in and affinity for the power of intercollegiate sport to develop and grow students through meaningful competitive endeavors.
The Director of Athletics will report directly to the President and will guide and lead a department of twenty-two sports programs with a long tradition of success and championships in the NAIA and Great Plains Athletics Conference. Additionally, the Director will manage and oversee the Osborne Athletics Complex which includes outstanding training and competitive facilities.
A graduate degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience in organized athletics or equivalent is required.
The Director of Athletics will be arriving to Hastings College at a time of substantial innovation and change. In addition to a new innovative academic calendar and liberal arts curriculum which will emphasize deliberate mentoring, experiential learning and interdisciplinary connections, all students in Fall of 2019 will be provided both an iPad and educational travel experiences to deepen student learning at Hastings College and fulfill our mission to develop and grow curious and compassionate leaders of the future. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be a key member of the campus leadership team and President’s cabinet in determining the nature and direction of our future growth and the opportunities for athletics to contribute deeply to our future.
