Oversee all technical aspects of the Youth Academy within the guidelines established by the Colorado Rapids, Major League Soccer and US Soccer.
Oversee and set policy for all technical aspects of the Academy.
Work with EVP/General Manager and Sr. Director of Soccer Development to ensure merit-based promotion of Development Academy players on a consistent basis with MLS and USL Pro properties
Ensure compliance with MLS Homegrown standards for all players listed on the Colorado Rapids homegrown list
Work with EVP/General Manager and Sr Director, Soccer Development to establish and monitor the progress of departmental KPIs and Critical Success factors
Work with Development Academy Staff to ensure day to day operations of the Development Academy teams including curriculum, style of play and all other aspects of player development for these players are executed at the highest standards
Oversee staff work in identification, recruitment and induction of high potential players for the Development Academy program.
Works with the CRYSC Technical Advisor and Alliance Technical Director to ensure consistency of curriculum and provide guidance in the recruitment, evaluation and education of staff across the Colorado Rapids Youth Development System.
Provide regular player development materials for coach education sessions and publications

Assist the Colorado Rapids EVP /General Manager and Sr. Director of Soccer Development with any other duties as assigned.
Direct supervisor to the Development Academy Staff Coaches
Demonstrated ability to teach techniques, tactics, physical and psychological components of soccer.
Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and educate youth players and youth coaching staff
Demonstrated ability to identify talented young players and promote them through the player development system
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational and personnel management.
Knowledge regarding player development.
Knowledge of MLS Homegrown Player requirements
Ability to create spreadsheets and routine business correspondence using Word and Excel software.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task effectively.
Knowledge of professional sports team operations, public relations, and/or sponsor relations is preferred.
Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
US Soccer “A” License or equivalent.
US Soccer Technical Director’s license or FFF Formation Course or ability to obtain within 1 year
Degree from accredited university in a physical education, natural science or sport management field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years working in player development including youth, college and/or professional coaching experience.
Professional playing experience preferred.
