Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution is seeking an Assistant Coach for Football. The University seeks a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong commitment to NCAA Division I-A athletics, with additional emphasis on the integration of compliance, academics, character, diversity; and the athletic and academic experience of the student-athlete. Successful candidate will be assisting the Head Coach in the development and maintenance of a competitive program, by championing a clear vision and strategy for a winning program aggressive in the pursuit of Big Ten Conference as well as success on a national level. Responsibilities include: providing direct coaching and instruction, scouting, evaluating and recruiting of student athletes. This candidate should possess established leadership/mentor role among student-athletes and other supportive staff while promoting sportsmanship and responsible behavior both during and outside of athletic competition; serves as a positive, inspirational leader for the football program, athletics department, and University. Candidate should embrace diversity and demonstrate inclusion; maintain commitment to departmental engagement, including collaborative interaction with athletics staff and coaches. The position requires creating establishment and maintenance of effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, Nittany Lion Club, booster clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public. Candidate must engage in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes and is responsible for the program's compliance with University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA regulations. Proven organizational, evaluation, administrative, and communication skills; a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; and knowledge of NCAA regulations is required Coaching experience at the collegiate level is required. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to three publicly available background checks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
