Summary of Position: The Women's Volleyball Head Coach will manage all aspects of a highly competitive Division I Volleyball program, which includes coaching; game management; recruitment of prospective student-athletes; monitoring of student-athletes' academic progress; compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules; alumni relations; fundraising; and the supervision/evaluation of assistant coaches.

Acceptable minimum years of experience: 5-7 years
Other minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least five years of intercollegiate coaching experience, preferably D1.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree preferred. Additional preferred qualifications include: public relations skills, ability to coordinate and supervise a staff, and experience as a former Volleyball player.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrated a commitment to promoting excellence to achieving ethnic, gender and cultural diversity.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Coach will plan and organize volleyball program including developing game plans; training and conditioning programs; organizing practice sessions; developing and retaining athletically talented student-athletes to compete successfully within the conference, regionally and/or nationally.
Assess talent and actively recruit talented student athletes to the volleyball program who are suitable for the UNH academic programs. This includes traveling to evaluate players abilities, phone calls, emailing, on campus meetings and scholarship recommendations.
Travel with the team, plan for equipment and supplies including uniforms. Responsible for ensuring that team expenditures do not exceed team budget.
Encourage student-athletes to perform to their highest academic potential, monitoring student-athletes’ progress toward degree requirements to remain eligible. Monitor the retention eligibility of student-athletes as it impacts volleyball Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR).
Develop and maintain strong alumni, parent and booster support for volleyball; work with volleyball’s booster group, and the UNH Foundation to increase annual contributions and scholarships for the volleyball team and the Athletics department.
Responsible for public relations: attending on/off campus functions representing the program. Speaking at high-schools, clubs, banquets, lecturing at summer camps. Actively pursue strong print and electronic media relations.
Pass the NCAA coaches certification test, attend all mandatory NCAA compliance meetings and maintain appropriate forms and documentation to be reviewed upon request. Maintain competency with respect to knowledge of, compliance with, state and federal laws, University policies/regulations, America East Conference rules/policies, and NCAA rules. Report to the Director of Athletics any violation of NCAA, conference, and/or institutional rules.
Coach will represent the University on the highest professional level with dignity, integrity, and strength of character. Coach must respect the rights and dignity of each student-athlete. Coach also must display sensitivity to diversity issues and shall work to create an inclusive and welcoming environment. Coach will be an ambassador for UNH Athletics and build strong relationships with institutional colleagues and the state’s populace.
