Minot State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Coordinator of Sports Information. Minot State is a proud member of NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. This position serves as a public relations specialist and game day practitioner for the athletic department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
1.External promotion of events.
2.Contact for media.
3.Coordinator and producer of official departmental releases.
4.Works with ADA-SC to coordinate all interviews with administration, staff, coaches, and students.
5.Members of department’s creative team.
6.Editor for all departmental publications.
a.Ability to create, compose, and edit written material.
7.Works with ADA-SC to coordinate all photography services.
8.Member of graphic standards team.
9.Responsible for coordination and production of radio broadcast, web streaming, and television.
10.Coordinator of all department’s presence on the World Wide Web, including content and design.
11.Coordinates daily maintenance and updating of athletic department website.
12.Coordinates content, as well as use and design of our web presence for the athletic department.
13.Coordinates technical aspects of running “Game Day”. 14.Member of publicity team for all aspects of Minot State University Athletics.
15.Develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
16.Communicate effectively and appropriately.
17.Interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public.
18.Detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors in written correspondence.
19.Maintain files accurately, in paper and in software programs. 20.Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
21.Effectively coordinate events and programs with the media. 22.Ability to make frequent trips to locations outside of the University area.
23.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required. 1-3 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform duties and responsibilities described above:
Have experience in Intercollegiate Athletics to understand the areas of game management, reporting, and media outlets.
Demonstrated abilities to supervise, manage, and lead Game Day staff.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience and understanding of an intercollegiate athletics program.
