Waldorf University is seeking qualified candidates for Head Men’s Wrestling Coach to start recruiting in the Winter/Spring of 2019. This is a full-time, 10-month (academic year based) position responsible for all phases of the Men’s Wrestling program in a manner compatible with Athletics Department and Waldorf University philosophies.
Qualifications: A strong commitment to absolute integrity, values, high sense of ethics and morals and expectations of Waldorf University is critical and required; and absolute compliance with all NAIA, NWCA, NSAA Conference and institutional rules and regulations at all times. Successful fulfillment of wrestling coaching responsibilities includes, but is not limited to strong organizational, communication and leadership skills; proven ability to recruit quality Wrestling student-athletes, instruction of wrestling techniques, fundamentals, coaching skills and psychological skills training; scheduling and coaching practices and contests (practice prep and game prep); mentoring, equipment control, retaining student-athletes, a commitment to ensuring strong atmosphere of the student-athletes’ academic progress including monitoring student-athletes’ progress toward a degree, monitoring annual sport budget (fiscal responsibility); coordinating travel arrangements for team competition; fundraising; supervising the assistant coaches; community involvement; attend all staff meetings, organizing and managing camps and clinics and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Candidate must be able to work as a team member and be self-directed and be willing to serve as good will ambassador for Waldorf University Athletics. Candidate also must possess experience working with diverse students and staff and the ability to organize and motivate student-athletes to maximum performance level in athletics and academic achievements. Additionally, candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and accept other duties as assigned.
