This position is responsible for promoting, recruiting, directing and coaching the men’s and women’s running programs, including cross country, indoor and outdoor track. This person will also be responsible for maintaining full rosters of student athletes each academic year.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. Master’s preferred.
Successful coaching and recruiting experience is required, at the collegiate level is preferred.
Possess the ability to deal in a superior fashion with the criteria established under the category “work performed”.
Evaluate players’ performance and design plans/strategies for improvement.
Provide individual and group instruction focused on the technical improvement of the individual.
Schedule, organize and oversee all practices and meets.
Develop a high quality recruitment program supported with a written, well defined plan including recruitment, scheduling, contacts and results.
Be involved in and with booster club activities.
Work diligently for placement at four year colleges and universities for worthy performers in the Indian Hills Community College program.
Be responsible for the conduct of players athletically and socially.
Maintain a monitoring system of class attendance and satisfactory progress toward each player’s educational goal.
Dress, act and represent Indian Hills Community College appropriately at all athletic events, practices and activities.
Conduct other duties with equal diligence and effort as given to the athletic program.
Monitor financial aid packages for all recruits to assure that educational costs, as well as room/board costs, are properly arranged for within established guidelines.
Organize and manage a summer running camp.
Develop and coordinate Indian Hills cross country meet.
Aid in facility maintenance.
Keep inventory and maintain equipment. Develop and maintain a budget for Indian Hills running programs.
Coordinate team travel.
Hire appropriate officials for meets.
Responsible for recruitment, retention, and instruction of student athletes.
Arrange for appropriate housing for athletes.
Promote IHCC athletics within the community by being active in community groups and events.
Participate and assist with IHCC Foundation activities.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Position Level: Certified, Coach – Exempt – Traditional Funding, "at-will" employment on a letter of employment
Yearly Employment Length: 4 term, full time
