The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach provides coaching, recruiting, and administrative assistance to the Head Women's Soccer Coach. This position will work with individual student-athletes on improving their performance in the sport of women’s soccer. The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach will also evaluate student-athletes to identify strengths and deficiencies, and design instructional opportunities to improve technical and strategic execution based on sound motor learning and bio-mechanical principles. This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the PAC-12 Conference, and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree. • Four years of paid soccer coaching experience at a NCAA Division I University. • Two years of Division I or professional playing experience. • Two years of experience working with Division I collegiate goalkeeper soccer athletes. • United States Soccer Federation or National Soccer Coaches Association of America C license/diploma.
Professional Competencies • Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills. • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated dedication to the full academic and social development of student-athletes. • Knowledge of NCAA rules and interpretations and ability to successfully pass the annual NCAA Recruiting exam.
Preferred Qualifications • Affiliation with Division I, highly successful elite women’s soccer program(s). • Proven significant skill development of student-athletes both individually and collectively. • Olympic youth development coaching experience. • Experience coaching youth club teams. • Full understanding of providing a quality student-athlete experience. • Video editing skills.
