The Assistant/Associate Athletics Director for Video Broadcast and Network Services will oversee all video and broadcast productions and related services for NC State Athletics, while playing an integral role in the development of the new NC State Athletics Broadcast and Production Center and final preparation for the launch of a linear ACC Network in 2019-20. The successful candidate will direct existing team members to continue to be an industry leader in content and event production. The Assistant/Associate Athletics Director will need to be an innovative and creative mind who will be the architect for a transformative time for NC State Athletics Video and Broadcast Services, who also possess the experience and skill set to interact with a broad spectrum of internal and external constituencies.
With launch of the ACC Network scheduled for August 2019, this position will play a critical role in our institutional preparedness, to include completion of the NC State Athletics Broadcast and Production Center design, construction and integration, as well as hiring and management/supervision of related staff.
Responsible for coordination of game production (live broadcast, streams and display boards) of all NC State Athletics, and other home games/events as assigned to include hiring and managing game day crews. Ingests footage from games and events.
Acts as a liaison between NC State Athletics, the media, and broadcast partners to obtain other footage, press conferences and interviews as necessary, as well as on technical logistics.
Keeps up to date with new technology and maintains technical supplies. Recommends acquisition of new equipment and helps manage technical budget.
Manages a team to develop and maximize content with the Communications and Marketing staffs that provides fresh videos and coverage on a daily/weekly basis.
Assists Communications in the management and maintenance of all digital media on GoPack.com, and creates, establishes and maintains a video library for the Department of Athletics.
Assists in the conception and implementation of event press/media opportunities as well as coverage of events (practices, games, community events, promotions), including some travel to away games.
Develops concepts and story lines for videos to be used at various athletics and university events, as well as in various formats.
Arranges on-camera interviews, stand-ups, and b-roll footage.
Conducts the necessary research to ensure that all interviews and shots are taken to fulfill story lines.
Works closely with Communications and Marketing teams to identify opportunities and create original projects in which video can be used to pitch stories, and shoots, edits, and produces b-roll packages for use by media outlets.
Maintains, transports, and understands how to operate broadcast equipment (camera, editing software, etc).
Ability to write scripts for high level productions such as Hall of Fame videos, while managing a team to support the overall brand objectives of NC State Athletics.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
