In accordance with all NCAA, Conference and College policies and procedures, the position of Director of Campus Recreation will report to the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs. This position will oversee the day to day operations of the Hynes Athletics Center (West). Duties include, but are not limited to, leadership and support for the daily operation of the Hynes Athletic Center, recreation and wellness programming, supervise and coordinate the activities of the center, staffing, safety and security of building, oversee the fleet of department athletic vans, coordination, direction and oversight of Iona College Summer Camp, and other duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1). Oversight of the day to day operations of the Hynes Athletics Center. 2). Coordination of recreation, intramural and wellness programming for the college community. 3). Coordinate staff schedule for Coordinator of Recreation & Facilities, Part-time Facility and Recreation Assistants, and Student Workers. 4). Ensure safety and security of the Hynes Athletics Center at all times. 5). Supervision of Coordinator of Recreation & Facilities, Part Time Facility and Recreation Assistants, and Student Workers. 6). Work in conjunction with Assistant AD Facilities & Operations to schedule and supervise the Hynes Athletics Center. 7). Manage the Athletic Departments ten 11-passenger vans and ensure their safe driving conditions and proper regulations. 8). Assist in game operations for men’s and women’s basketball as well as other sports as assigned. 9). Assist in oversight of club sports and spirit teams. 10). Oversight of Summer Day Camp and other camps/clinics run by teams and department. This position will coordinate all summer day camp activities. 11). Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations.
Education: B.S. degree required from a recognized college or university. Master’s preferred with experience in college athletics
Experience: 3-5 years of administrative experience
Specialized Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word
Physical Requirements: Some driving required (a valid NYS Driver's License or equivalent is required)
