Under limited supervision, creates marketing and communication programs that effectively describe and promote the divisions services and/or products, including graphics, brochures, fact sheets or other promotional materials and/or products. Research and develop content for marketing and communication publications.
Classification Standard Duties: Develop and manage marketing and communication projects. Write or edit, direct the design of, publish and distribute marketing and communication materials designed to meet the marketing and communication objectives of the division. Manage all activities to produce these materials including procurement. Maintain familiarity with all division programs and services and update all communication resources accordingly. Serve as editor for all division marketing and communications projects. Responsible for promoting, updating, and responding to all social media. Develop the content of the divisions website. Monitor information to assure the web site is accurate, timely and in compliance with the needs and interests of various audiences seeking information about the organization. Develop advertising messages and promotional campaigns for the division. Develop tracking systems that evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and projects implemented by the department. Coordinate and assist with special events and community outreach projects designed to increase awareness and utilization of services. Oversee the maintenance of essential resource and background files to include subject/source files, photo files and related information essential to marketing and communications duties. Cultivate and evaluate sponsorship opportunities for the department.
Develop and execute annual marketing plans for all assigned sports and events. Create and implement marketing strategies to help increase attendance and revenue for New Mexico State University Athletics, as well as enhance the fan experience and game day atmosphere for home contests. Develop event scripts for home contests as well as direct and execute live elements at various home contests including Daktronics videoboard, Tricaster camera system and ClickEffects in-venue audio system. Create still and video elements for video board for football, volleyball, women’s basketball and men’s basketball.
Work with ticket office, coaching staffs, New Mexico State Sports Properties and athletics media relations to organize athletics planning calendar outlining annual/seasonal promotions, social media elements and events at assigned sporting events. Increase engagement with both the New Mexico State University campus and Las Cruces community in an effort to grow support. Generate efforts to increase engagement and attendance with undergraduate and graduate students in the University at all athletic events. Coordinate all advertising and media buys, along with print and digital collateral design (posters, schedule cards, etc.). Create social media still and video elements for all sports. Assist with the fulfillment of sold inventory New Mexico State Properties, the 3rd Party Multimedia Rights Holder for NM State Athletics. Design and implement all marketing activities for Western Athletic Conference Championship events hosted by New Mexico State University. Oversee two full-time employees and marketing intern program, to include hiring, scheduling, and educating.
