Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
Job Summary: Orthopaedics is growing the Sports Medicine Division and will provide athletic training services for local sports teams in the training room and on the field.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Athletic Training, Physical Education, or a related field.
Experience: Three years' experience, to include two years of supervisory experience.
Certification(s): Current Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers. Valid State of Texas Athletic License by the Texas Department of Health TOC 541. Certified in First-Aid, CPR and AED use
Assess, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries under the advise, consent and prescription of a physician. Provide athletic training services on an ongoing basis for local sports teams in the training room and on the field. Attend home and away games as assigned and agreed upon by the sports medicine faculty member or division chief.
Provide outreach services by implementing preventative athletic injury programs for the athletes. Participate with the sports medicine team to plan and implement specific treatment and prevention programs for individual patients and patient/student groups.
Provide athletic training services at sponsored sporting and community events. Other duties as assigned
