Auburn University at Montgomery, invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Head Men's Soccer Coach. The successful candidate must stay current and compliant with all pertinent regulations and procedures of AUM, NCAA Division II & Gulf South Conference. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved. Recruit student athletes who are admissible to the university and who possess the skill level to enhance the men's soccer program; Assist Athletic Director with fund raising and community engagement activities; Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season; work closely with Athletic Director in scheduling events; Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times when athletes are present; adhere to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and follow up; Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, contest procedures, coaching techniques and general information about all aspects of the sport; Maintain accurate records and documentation; Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; Establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual athletes; Establish performance criteria for eligibility in collegiate competition in the sport. Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms; account for all equipment. Develop a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the sports information and the university to inform the public about the sport.
As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA Division II and the conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance relative to those applicable duties.
