Ball State University Intercollegiate Athletics invites applicants for an Assistant Director of Communications/Creative and Emerging Media.
Position function: Responsible for creating and implementing the overall digital communications strategies and creative initiatives for the Ball State Athletic Department. Will work directly with all sports in the creation and implementation of a social media strategy and content production. Collaborate with creative services team to advance the brand across all outlets. Directly responsible for graphic content and digital media campaigns, as well as activation across sports. Explore and implement new and developing technologies to engage existing and new audiences with the Ball State brand. Serve as communications liaison or support for assigned sport(s) to include creation of communications plan, responding to media requests, development of game notes and publications. Serve as a member of the marketing and communications team working to advance our brand and strategically communicate the stories of our student-athletes and teams.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, broadcasting, communications, graphic design, advertising, or related field.

Preferred qualifications: Three years of collegiate or professional sports experience. Demonstrated strong knowledge of and proficiency in use of social media platforms. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of brand, communication, social media, and/or digital media strategy.
