The Staff Psychologist will work as a part of the Sport Psychology team within Sports Medicine to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, other mental health services, and mental skills training to student-athletes. The Staff Psychologist will apply counseling and sport psychology services, which extends theory and research in to the field to educate coaches, athletes, and parents with the goals of facilitating optimal mental health, sport involvement, and performance. The practice of applied sport psychology involves a combination of individual and group consulting or counseling depending on the needs of the client. The goal of the Staff Psychologist is to assist student-athletes in reaching their potential as people, students, and athletes.
Psychologist License in good standing or eligible for licensure in the state of Indiana within 1 year of employment.
One year working directly with collegiate student-athletes in providing psychological/counseling services.
Ability to communicate and interact closely with Student-Athletes, coaching staffs, administration, and associated medical care personnel.
Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
