Intended to develop future leaders in athletic administration, the Northeast-10 Conference is now accepting applications for the position of Administrative Intern. The NCAA DII strategic plan includes supporting the importance, value and benefits of establishing and maintaining an inclusive culture for student-athletes and career opportunities for coaches/administrators from diverse backgrounds. As a DII member, the NE10 supports these same values.
The position will have involvement in most aspects of Conference administration, including strategic planning, governance, compliance and business. Specific Areas of Responsibility: NE10 Strategic Plan initiative support and tracking, Administrative support of the Conference’s academic awards program, business functions, officiating services, Compliance program and NLI program; Communication with NE10 Student Athlete Advisory Council; Support NCAA DII Coaches Connection program; Conference Officiating projects; Special Research projects; NE10 Meeting planning and attendance; Merchandise Program; Attend select championships to assist in an operational/administrative capacity.
Qualifications. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in athletic administration, possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and display a high level of professionalism. It is also preferred that candidates have experience as an undergraduate varsity student-athlete.
Stipend is $1,750 per month. This position is not eligible for additional employment benefits. The successful candidate will begin work at the Conference office headquarters in Mansfield, Mass as soon as a qualified applicant is identified. The internship concludes June, 2019. The successful candidate is expected to work no less than 30 hours per week but flexibility exists with regard to exact schedule. Travel as needed for Conference events.
