Position: Club Rowing Coach/Coordinator of Intramural Sports
Reporting Relationship: Assistant Athletic Director – Club Sports & Recreation
Club Rowing Coach/Coordinator of Intramural Sports will be responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of Intramural Sports on campus. Furthermore, the Club Rowing Coach/Coordinator of Intramural Sports provides leadership, management, recruiting, and strategic planning for the Rowing program.
Specific Responsibilities as Head Club Rowing Coach:
•Provide leadership in responding to student needs and college issues related to Menlo’s club rowing program.
•Effectively coordinate the recruiting of student-athletes within admission standards and policies established by the College.
•Establish a written set of aims, goals, objectives and values for the club rowing program.
•Continue to seek professional development opportunities for self and staff relating to coaching and recruiting strategies and techniques for the purpose of enhancing the program’s competitiveness and the development of his or her student-athletes.
•Actively promote, publicize, and enhance a positive image for Menlo College.
•Determine budget requirements for developing and maintaining the club rowing program. Control spending and monitor the budget.
•Keep accurate records and grades for students in accordance with Menlo standards, turning in grades on time and properly filing deficiency reports when necessary.
•Assure that all staff and student-athletes comply with appropriate Menlo College and club policies and regulations.
•Evaluate, recommend, and revise policies regarding travel, schedules, and other issues related to the club rowing program.
•Responsible for the on-going management, supervision, and development of the club rowing coaching staff. Conduct annual performance evaluations of staff.
•Job responsibilities may include evenings and weekends.
Specific Responsibilities as Coordinator of Intramural Sports:
*Administer all aspects of the Intramural Sports program.
*Mitigate risk associated with intramural sports (liability releases, maintain a safe environment games/event, inspect and maintain equipment).
*Manage IMLeagues, the online intramural sports registration and management program.
*Market upcoming intramural events and encourage student involvement on campus.
*Create new programming to cater to a wide variety of student interests and abilities.
*Supervise the Intramural Sports Coordinator (student positions).
*Supervise the Intramural Sports Staff (student positions).
*Manage and maintain the intramural sports equipment.
*Job responsibilities may include evenings and weekends.
*Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

Previous supervisory experience, preferably in sports or recreation environment.
