Illinois State University, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and Missouri Valley Football Conference, is seeking a qualified candidate for the 12 month, full-time position of Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Coach. This position reports to the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. The assistant coach is responsible for assisting with various coaching, management, and administrative duties of the Men's & Women's Track & Field program as assigned by the Head Coach. This position will focus on recruiting and developing the throws events. This includes, but is not limited to designing the training programs for the throws events. The assistant coach is responsible for conducting any duties or activities with integrity and within the rules of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference and/or Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVC or MVFC), the State of Illinois, Illinois State University, and the Athletics Department.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; proven ability to teach and coach fundamentals and advanced skills; advanced knowledge of techniques and strategies; thorough knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules; proven organizational and leadership ability.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree; experience recruiting at the Division I level; experience coaching male and female throws events.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a 12 month appointment, with the possibility for annual renewal.
