Located in downtown San Francisco our club is accepting applications for the position of Director of Coaching (DOC). Our club fields boys’ and girls’ teams from ages U8 to U18 that compete in the CCSL Prep, Norcal and SFYS Recreational League. Working in conjunction with the club’s Executive Director, the DOC is primarily responsible for overseeing day-to-day soccer technical direction and operations, implementing a comprehensive player development strategy, coaches development and education requirements and planning, assisting with the rostering of teams that will compete at appropriately high levels, representing club in all league technical matters, and representing club at various community events.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think and plan strategically and practically to convert the club’s visions into reality. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, implementing an age-appropriate training curriculum; recruiting, leading, educating and retaining top-level coaches; fostering skill development and a positive environment throughout the club; setting and achieving training goals for teams; leading coaching educational training sessions for travel and recreational coaches; ensuring completion and distribution of player evaluations on a seasonal basis; organizing unique training, promotional, and marketing events; and growing the enrollment of recreational and elite soccer programs. Candidates should possess exceptional inclusive leadership and management skills; outstanding organizational skills and a working knowledge of club soccer operations and administration; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and elite level coaching and playing experience.
Job Description “Director of Coaching”
Director of Coaching: Responsible for overseeing and the coordination of all soccer technical operations and direction related to the Club recruitment / development / and retention of quality coaches, players and members.
Additional Salary Information: Salary range is based on experience; the successful candidate will be subject to a background check prior to employment.
Required duties for the Position of Director of Coaching:
Associates Degree related to athletics or Bachelor Degree preferred.
USSF “B” license at minimum; USSF “A” license preferred.
At minimum, three (3) years of youth coaching experience; National Youth license preferred.
Coaching assigned teams as needed (2 teams, at minimum).
Attendance at weekly Executive Meetings and on-going communication with Executive Director to advise on all soccer and club related issues.
Experience with developing players to succeed at the college level, knowledge of the college recruiting process, and having an extensive network of college-level contacts.
Knowledge of and compliance with rules.
Spanish speaker preferred
· Report any and all concerns, progress, policy violations, etc. to the Club Administrator in a timely manner.
