ROLE of the POSITION
The Director of Ticket Sales will be charged with building, training, and leading a sales team to meet revenue projections and goals set by the Associate A.O., Content Creation & Fan Engagement. This position is responsible for overseeing ticket sales efforts for all UNLV Athletics' ticketed sports with a primary focus on revenue generating sports: football and men's basketball. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Hire and train 4-7 ticket salespeople in the areas of group sales, selling tickets to corporations and selling to individuals.
Manage the day-to-day activities of those salespeople through on-going training, tracking call volume and productivity and creating a sales culture that will drive our success.
Go on major sales calls with sales staff.
Provide sales tracking reports and activity reports to upper management on a daily and weekly basis.
Work in collaboration with ticket operations in an effective manner to deliver terrific customer service.
Work with our Associate AD, Content Creation & Fan Engagement on development and execution of ticket sales and marketing strategies including social media, database marketing and other tools.
Help develop all sales and prospect databases for groups, individuals and corporations.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or an equivalency of experience/education of a 2:1 ratio, plus two (2) years of related professional experience…preferably in college/professional athletic ticketing. In addition, qualified candidates must possess:
Exceptional leadership skills
Knowledge of all applicable NCAA rules and regulations Strong organizational skills
Ability to use logic and understanding of the day-to-day ticket operations of a college athletics department
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse, ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds
Ability to work independently without supervision
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
