ASSISTANT COACH 1 - HITTING Women’s Softball Pos. # 502020 Req. # P449 RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Head women’s softball coach organize and administer all aspects of our NCAA Division I women’s softball program. Essential duties include but are not limited to: overall team hitting instruction, day to day coaching of student athletes; individual skill instruction; recruiting academically sound and competitive student athletes; scheduling to enhance championship opportunities; organizing and arranging team travel plans; oversee and promote compliance of NCAA rules among staff, student athletes and representatives of athletic interest; serve as a positive role model for the student athletes; and budget assigned funds. Assume duties of the on the field assistant coach for all hitting and other duties as assigned by the head coach; scouting of opponents; on and off campus recruiting and assist with game preparations and player improvements. Work to enhance the image of the university and promote positive community relations. Assist with team scouting film exchange; game promotions; participation in summer camps and clinics; organize and direct on campus fall tournaments, know and follow NCAA rules and regulations, serve as a liaison to the compliance office, turn all required paperwork into the compliance office in a professional and timely manner, educate student athletes, parents and representatives of athletic interest regarding NCAA rules, turn any known violation into the compliance office immediately; serve as a part time instructor in the Health and Human Performance department and perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in an educational related field preferred. Two (2) years experience as a collegiate or professional player and/or coach at the high school, junior college, four year college or professional level required. Four (4) years Collegiate and/or professional playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
