The Position The Athletic Department at Lewis University seeks qualified individuals to fill the Associate Athletic Director/Director of Compliance position. The Associate Director of Athletics/Director of Compliance will assist in the day-to-day operation of the Athletics Department. This individual must possess high ethical standards, integrity and a willingness to exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, Conference, University and departmental rules and regulations.
As an individual employed in this capacity, the Associate Athletic Director/Director of Compliance is subject to the regulations of the NCAA. If at any time it is determined that the Associate Athletic Director/Director of Compliance is in violation of such regulations, then by the provision of the NCAA enforcement procedures, they may be subject to corrective disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Direct all compliance efforts of the intercollegiate athletic department to ensure that all Lewis University, NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association rules and regulations are followed
Direct all compliance educational training and updates to all athletic department employees, University employees, student-athletes, parents, boosters, alumni and fans
Monitor all departmental activities to ensure that NCAA rules are adhered to
Ensure that all Lewis, NCAA, GLVC, and MIVA eligibility rules are followed
Ensure that all academic eligibility requirements are met every semester
Assist the Director of Athletics in oversight of all human resources administration in the athletics department
Coordinate with Faculty Athletics Representatives on various athletic and academic matters
Responsible for administrative oversight of various sports as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Supervise athletics graduate assistant for compliance
Assist in game-day supervision
Seek to serve institutional, conference and national committees to further enhance the Athletic Department’s standing with the various constituencies; promote existing and new programs and/or policies
Help coordinate departmental special events such as Hall of Fame Banquet, Delahanty Awards and Senior Banquet
Serve on university committees and/or task forces as assigned
Be involved in community organizations to facilitate the promotion of the University’s athletics programs
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Must possess high ethical standards, integrity, and a minimum of five years previous athletic experience as an administrator or coach. Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to work independently, as well as within a team-oriented work group is necessary. Knowledge of business and accounting procedures required. Extensive knowledge of NCAA Division II rules mandatory. Strong organizational skills including the ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
