Northwest Missouri State University, a NCAA Division II member of the Mid-America Athletics Association (MIAA) located in Maryville, Missouri is seeking qualified applicants for its Sports Information Graduate Assistant position beginning in the Fall of 2018.
Primary Duty: Assist the Sports Information Director in promotion of all sports. Primary media contact for soccer, cross country, women's basketball, track and field and softball teams.
Essential Functions: - Assist in game day statistical operations for home games; PA for soccer and softball; write press releases for teams; social media; update and print game notes, programs, etc.; assist with weekly media luncheons; travel with teams to away games as needed; website maintenance; rosters, schedules, record books, photographs, etc.; regular communication with opponents; sending rosters, stats, etc.; report scores to NCAA.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Must be fully accepted in a graduate program. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in 8 hours of graduate work OR 2.75 GPA in Undergraduate degree.
Confidentiality: Some sensitive knowledge is available (scrimmages, injuries, preseason rankings, and awards) and should not be divulged until the appropriate time. Interactions with media members are common, so confidentiality is pertinent.
