The Frostburg State University Athletic Communications Office is seeking candidates for a broadcast graduate assistant position for the 2018-19 academic year. The graduate assistant will serve as the primary broadcaster for several sports, but will have exposure to play-by-play coverage of all 21 Bobcat varsity athletic teams through the department’s web stream. The broadcast GA will help train and work directly with the student work force, conduct preview, pregame and post game interviews with coaches and student-athletes and develop game notes and gather statistics for broadcasts.
The broadcast graduate assistant will also serve as the primary contact for 2-3 sports and will assist with game day duties such as statistics, writing of game recaps, photography and updating the athletic website for others.
Candidates should possess strong broadcasting skills, knowledge of video editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro, writing/editing skills, attention to detail and a willingness to work hard and learn.
The position is granted 12 credit hours tuition waiver per term and 30 credit hours per 12 month cycle. A $3,000.00 stipend is paid per semester.
