The mission of the NC State University Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic, and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. The Sports Medicine Department is responsible for providing medical care for student-athletes.
This position serves as Athletic Trainer to assigned teams and is responsible for the care of student-athletes, to include prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of the injured student-athletes under the supervision of the Medical Director. The anticipated assigned team will be Swimming & Diving.
Responsibilities include: assisting with preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for athletic training facility operations; interfacing with coaches regarding injured student-athletes; following the NATA Code of Ethics; remaining current on all state and national requirements for license renewal; complies with all University, ACC, and NCAA bylaws and legislation; supervising student workers and Graduate Assistants; assisting in the daily operation of the athletic training facility; ensuring proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes; working with Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and the Medical Director in providing proper evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes; maintaining medical records on student-athletes to include physical examinations, insurance information and injury evaluation reports; attending scheduled team practices and events, including traveling with teams, as assigned; provides emergency care when indicated; assisting with maintenance of athletic training facility equipment; and assisting with annual physical examinations and drug testing program.
NATABOC certification is required.
Must be eligible for NC Board of Athletic Training license.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Valid DL required.
