Graduate Assistantships are available in Marketing and Promotions and Facility Operations.
Both Graduate Assistants are designed as a two year of study program at which point the student should have a completed master’s degree. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA for continuous employment. The positions are full-time, 10-month. Compensation includes tuition remission, a $500 monthly stipend, health insurance, a meal plan and housing.
Marketing and Promotions: Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics in numerous marketing, sponsorship and promotional initiatives.
The successful candidate will work with the Director of Athletics on numerous programs throughout the course of the year, including, but not limited to: organizing game announcers, coordinating the schedule of game entertainment, distributing promotional items, facilitating relationships with internal organizations on campus and various outside organizations, assisting with sponsor solicitation and other duties as assigned by the Director of
Facility Operations: Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director, the graduate assistant for Facility Operations will be involved in all phases of facilities management as well as day to day operations and athletic facilities rental requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling of all athletic department facilities, including varsity team practices and games, intramural events as well as external rentals and events, maintenance and upkeep of the various facilities, managing work orders and assisting with project management, including acting as a liaison with outside vendors as required as well as coordinating student-workers for all home athletic events.
Additionally, the Facility Operations GA will also manage select intercollegiate athletic events which include supervision of game staff, game management, event setup and breakdown and coordination of officials as well as coordinating student-workers for all home athletic events.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree, experience in college athletics or intramurals as either a coach or an athlete, and a valid US driver’s license for a minimum of two years. Hiring is contingent upon a background check and acceptance into a qualified Master’s Program at Manhattanville College.
