POSITION: Assistant Varsity Coach, Track and Field/Cross Country 12 Month athletic service basis, 100% Academic Professional Appointment
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under direction of the head coach, assist in all areas relating to the operation of the track and field and cross country programs RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant Coach will be responsible for the following: 1. Assist in all phases of training, practice and coaching of assigned event group(s), with an emphasis on speed and power events 2. Under direction of the head coach, Assist in all phases of the recruitment process including identification, evaluation, and coordination of the recruitment of prospective student-athletes 3. Assist in all areas as they relate to the operation of the track and field and cross country programs 4. Work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics 5. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.

Qualifications: Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in sports management, kinesiology, recreation or related field required
Experience: Required: Previous collegiate coaching experience High moral and ethical standards, honesty, integrity, maturity, self-motivation, commitment, and a desire to improve personal and professional skills
Preferred: Coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level USA Track and Field Level II certification
