Summary and Scope of Position: The Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for the administration and organization of a successful athletic program that competes in the Centennial Conference at the NCAA Division III level.
Specific Responsibilities: •Prepare, schedule and organize daily practice sessions, game preparation for competition and off-season training •Schedule games and practices in consultation with the Associate Athletic Director •Organize and administer the recruiting of prospective student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA, Centennial Conference, and Ursinus College policies and procedures •Organize, direct, and mentor the coaching staff to carry out the goals and objectives of the program •Responsibly expend allocated budget and ensure that the budget balances each fiscal year •Engage in regular consultation with athletic training personnel to maximize the safety and wellness of student-athletes •Implement appropriate risk management strategies at all times •Demonstrate concern for the overall welfare of student athletes at all times •Work collaboratively with the Compliance Officer in regards to the rules and regulations of the NCAA and the Centennial Conference •Field a team that will be as competitive as possible within the guidelines set by the NCAA, CC, and Ursinus College •Assist and support the Department of Athletics in administration and operations •Work to ensure the ongoing eligibility of athletes and monitor their academic progress •Provide general advising, mentoring and support to student-athletes •Engage in ethical decision-making and outstanding sportsmanship •Execute all of these responsibilities as head coach in a manner that reflects an ongoing commitment to the excellence, integrity, and success of the men’s lacrosse program, of the Department of Athletics, and Ursinus College •Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred • At least 3-5 years coaching experience • Knowledge of rules and techniques of the sport • Knowledge of NCAA Division III and Centennial Conference rules and regulations • Experience with recruiting and fundraising • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational, delegation and planning ability
