NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics
POSITION: Assistant Varsity Coach, Women’s Golf 12 Month, 100% Academic Professional Appointment PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under direction of the head coach, assist in all areas relating to the operation of the women’s golf program. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Varsity Coach will be responsible for the following: 1. Assist the Head Coach with the administration of the women’s intercollegiate varsity golf program and the operation of the Demirjian Indoor Golf Facility and Lauritsen/Wohlers Outdoor Facility. 2. Assist with the identification, evaluation, tracking, and recruitment of student-athletes to the University of Illinois. 3. Instruct athletes in the fundamentals of golf and coach strategy/course management. 4. Monitor academic progress of student-athletes. 5. Assist with the development of appropriate public relations and promotional activities for the women’s golf program. 6. Update tournament stats for individual and team play following each tournament. 7. Assist with event management for hosted tournament(s). 8. Oversee the operation and maintenance of the golf practice facilities. 9. Coordinate website content and manage social media platforms for the women’s golf program. 10. Extensive travel will be required. 11. Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business or related field
Experience: Required: Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills High moral and ethical standards Extensive knowledge of competitive golf and experience as an intercollegiate golfer Proficiency in Word and Excel
Preferred: Three to five years of coaching experience preferred. Proficiency in Anova, Flight Scope, JumpForward and Teamworks preferred.
