Responsibilities include providing care, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries for student athletes while providing coverage for practice and contests. Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, experience with various modalities, a willingness to travel and work long hours, weekends and holidays are required. Bachelor degree required. Other requirements include current NATA certification, Illinois State License, CPR and safety certifications and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Responsible for the care, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries for student athletes. Provide game and practice coverage. • Administer treatment and provide post-surgery rehabilitation of injuries. • Instruct athletes on injury prevention. • Administer game and practice activities including taping and stretching of athletes. • Provide medical coverage of athletic games and practices. Assess injuries and give treatment. • Act as liaison to between student athlete, parents, doctors, coaches and athletic department. • Research, assess and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation techniques. • Adhere to all University, Horizon League and NCAA rules and regulations.
Bachelor's degree in kinesiology or a related field and a minimum of two years experience are required. National Athletic Trainers' Association certification and State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation license required. Knowledge of Horizon League rules and regulations. CPR and safety certifications. Direct knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. Knowledge of MS office applications.
